Can I enter on the day?
Yes you can, but please arrive well before time and you will need to pay an additional “Late Entry Fee” of R20.

Do I need to register if I have pre-entered?
Yes.  Please arrive with enough time to register and collect your race numbers. Registration is open from 05:00am to 05:45am on race day.

Do I need a ROAG number?
No, you will be issued with a race number specific to this even at race registration.

Where do we park?
Parking is available on Lagoon Drive. Please allow for 10 minutes walking to Registration / Start.

What time is the start?
The 12km and 18km will start at 06:00am.  The 5km will start separately, at 06:10am.

Can I bring my pets?
No.  It is not advisable to run / walk with your pets.
Do I have to swim across rivers?
No, you will be able to walk / wade across any water crossings.  Lifeguards are, however, always on duty just in case the rivers are high and you require assistance.
Will my shoes get wet?
On the 18km and 12km routes, YES, your shoes will get wet ! On the 5km route, your shoes will stay dry, as there are no river crossings.

What is the course?
This is an off road trail run which includes forests, sugar cane fields and some beach running.

Can I walk?
Walkers are only invited to enter the 12km and 5km race.  The 18km is for runners only.

Must I carry my own water?
There is a WaterPoint around half way for both the 18km and 12km race, but we always recommend you carry your own just in case it is a hot day.  Although there is no WaterPoint on the 5km route, there are numerous water taps available on the Umhlanga Promenade.

Are there any hazards?
Trail running by nature is characterized by uneven terrain and so you should be aware of your footing along the route.  Each distance will have a ‘race sweep’ should you get into any difficulty or you could make your way to the WaterPoint at half way to report your issue.  First Aid will be available at the Start / Finish to handle any medical incidents and Netcare 911 will also be on standby for any medical emergency assistance.
